About the Event

Brading Day is a popular community run country fair held on the first Sunday in July each year.

It is a bigger than a village fete, but small enough not to lose its intimacy.

It first began way back in 1285 when King Edward I gave Brading people the right to hold an annual fair by way of a Royal Charter.

Whilst the attractions have changed a little over time, with each passing year the event goes from strength to strength.

2006 saw the introduction of Brading In The Park community evening with live music held on the Saturday evening prior to Brading Day and we hope this will be a regular feature.

The event is organised by a committee of volunteers on a not-for-profit basis.  All charges for stalls, at the gate or any other money raised is used to cover the costs of staging the event.  Any surplus funds at the end of the year apart from any donations to local groups are set for staging the following years event.

With a wide range of interests and activities, the annual Brading Day and the newly introduced Brading in the Park event event is a fun filled day out for all ages.
